Buel's Gore

The sun came out soon after I began photographing this spot, ending my adventure with the first snow of the season. But as we drove home it got dark and began to snow again, lightly at first then quite forcefully. It continued to come down as we made our way through Huntington, with high wind and poor visibility. It was a classic winter squall. By the time we got to Williston the warmer temperatures in the Champlain valley turned it to rain. Alas, we awoke this morning to a white coat even in the valley--the lowest and typically warmest part of the state.

Hi John - wonderful images - I just traveled back through several of yours - you were featured by AM3 this evening on their (AM3's) Facebook posting, in case you were not aware . Our daughter lives in Essex Junction and yesterday she told us that it was snowing - she teaches elementary in Williston and does not like to see an early snow :-) anyway I love your images - just super - maybe we will bounce into each other.... My wife and I come up there several times a year...Good Luck and Happy shooting - you are living in Photographic Dreamland, you know :-)
