Lake Champlain in Flood Stage and Rain

Posted by
John (Williston, Vermont, United States) on 13 May 2019 in Landscape & Rural.

The ferryboats are not running. The lake level is too high. It is over-washing the dock so cars cannot load. We've been getting only an average bit of rain but we had a heavy snow accumulation on the mountains that is still melting. More snow is predicted for Tuesday. Spring does come to Vermont but in the mean time the weather plays with our heads.

Looks like a lot of highwaters.

It has been exceptionally wet in RI and PA, too.

How often has this sort of thing happened? Every 10 years, 20? Or is it just highly unusual? Hm. Most lakes are full here too, even in Texas.
