The causeway that links Grand Isle to the Vermont mainland, permitting U.S. Route 2 to continue its journey from Houlton, Maine all the way to Main Street in Everett, Washington. Actually, you can only take Route 2 to Rousse’s Point, New York, right across Lake Champlain. Then you have to go into a nice country known locally as Canada, and pick up U.S. Route 2 again in St. Ignace, Michigan. There are no causeways across the Great Lakes.
