Chisletown Bridge

Posted by
John (Williston, Vermont, United States) on 26 October 2021 in Architecture.

I have been photographing (mostly) Vermont for how many years...and this might be my first covered bridge. They are so ubiquitous as to be banal. So for those waiting with arrested respiratory function, the Chisletown Bridge is one of our most iconic, maybe because of the bright red color. Most bridges are left to their natural weathered wood couture. The name also memorializes the manufacture of steel cutting tools in a long gone mill just beneath the bridge.

Haven't been holding my breath. I suspect that's a younger generation. But I must say this one is really spiffy.
